Privacy Policy
Code Anvils collects only the minimum information needed to run the site. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how long it sticks around.
Information we collect
When you visit Code Anvils, our web server records standard request metadata: the page you requested, your IP address, the user agent string your browser reports, the referring page, and the timestamp. This data is used to keep the site online, to debug performance issues, and to detect abuse. We do not link these records to any personally identifying account, because Code Anvils does not have user accounts.
If you contact us by email, we collect the name, email address, and message body that you choose to send us. We use that information solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not add it to a marketing list, sell it, or share it with any third party.
Cookies
Code Anvils does not set first-party cookies for tracking or analytics.
Advertising
Code Anvils does not currently display third-party advertising. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated before any advertising partner is introduced.
Third-party links
Snippet detail pages link out to the original repository or gist on third-party platforms such as GitHub. Once you leave Code Anvils, the privacy practices of those destinations apply, not ours. We have no control over their data collection and recommend reviewing their privacy policies separately.
Data retention
Server logs are retained for up to 90 days, after which they are rotated and deleted. Email correspondence is retained for as long as is necessary to resolve the conversation, typically no longer than 12 months, and then deleted unless you ask us to keep them on file for a specific reason.
Your rights
You may request a copy of any personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccuracies, or request that we delete your past correspondence. Send the request to privacy@codeanvils.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Updates to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the site evolves. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of this page. The "last updated" date below reflects the most recent revision.
