Privacy Policy

SnippetForge collects only the minimum information needed to run the site. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and how long it sticks around.

Information we collect

When you visit SnippetForge, our web server records standard request metadata: the page you requested, your IP address, the user agent string your browser reports, the referring page, and the timestamp. This data is used to keep the site online, to debug performance issues, and to detect abuse. We do not link these records to any personally identifying account, because SnippetForge does not have user accounts.

If you submit the contact form, we collect the name, email address, and message body that you choose to send us. We use that information solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not add it to a marketing list, sell it, or share it with any third party.

Cookies

SnippetForge does not set first-party cookies for tracking or analytics. Some of our advertising partners — primarily Google AdSense — may set their own cookies in your browser when an ad is rendered. You can control or disable those cookies through your browser settings or through the partner's own opt-out tooling.

Advertising

We display contextual advertising through Google AdSense in the slots marked on the page. AdSense may use cookies and similar identifiers to personalise the ads you see. You can review and adjust your ad preferences at adssettings.google.com.

Third-party links

Snippet detail pages link out to the original repository or gist on third-party platforms such as GitHub. Once you leave SnippetForge, the privacy practices of those destinations apply, not ours. We have no control over their data collection and recommend reviewing their privacy policies separately.

Data retention

Server logs are retained for up to 90 days, after which they are rotated and deleted. Contact form submissions are retained for as long as is necessary to resolve the conversation, typically no longer than 12 months, and then deleted unless you ask us to keep them on file for a specific reason.

Your rights

You may request a copy of any personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccuracies, or request that we delete your contact form submission. Send the request to privacy@snippetforge.dev and we will respond within 30 days.

Updates to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as the site evolves. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of this page. The "last updated" date below reflects the most recent revision.
